September 2024 – Eight DBSA volunteers recently participated in a bloodletting event at Santa Ana Elementary School in Pateros, donating a total of 32 blood bags. The event was organized by the Pateros Triskelion Grand Council (PTGC) in collaboration with Serving Hearts Charity, with communication care specialist and community leader Skynrd Ibalio leading on the DBSA side.

The blood donation leaves a significant impact on local blood banks and provides crucial support to individuals in need of blood transfusion.

“The selflessness and dedication of our volunteers provide hope and life to countless individuals facing medical challenges,” said John Michael Cuevas, PTGC chair.

DBSA’s messenger team for global bank transitions to e-motorcycles

November 2024 – DBSA is pleased to announce that its messenger team for one of the world’s largest banks has transitioned into e-motorcycles—a transformative partnership that marks an important milestone in DBSA’s journey toward a greener future.

This important development comes after DBSA renewed its service agreement with the global bank, a partnership that started in 2015.

By adding three e-motorcycles to its current fleet, DBSA will have decreased its total carbon emissions by 8.91% from 1,126,910.61 grams per month to 1,026,485.46 per month, saving a total of three trees monthly.

“By integrating e-motorcycles into our workforce, we are taking a bold step toward minimizing our carbon footprint. These electric vehicles offer a sustainable, efficient, and cost-effective alternative to traditional gas-powered vehicles, aligning with our long-term strategy for a cleaner, greener future. With each mile traveled by our e-motorcycles, we reduce emissions, cut down on air pollution, and move closer to our environmental goals,” said DBSA country director Dr. Krees Castañeda.

The bank’s support also enables DBSA to scale this initiative across its entire fleet.

“Their commitment to green solutions and renewable energy sources aligns perfectly with our values, making this partnership a natural fit. Through this collaboration, we are creating an ecosystem that encourages businesses to think beyond traditional practices, fostering an environment of innovation where sustainability is the key to success,” said Dr. Castañeda.
